Fantastic French Toast

Recipe developed by Alanna Marise

Preparation Time: 2 minutes, Cooking Time: 10 minutes

This is one of my favourite things to cook on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Mainly cause it requires little effort, is delicious, is ready and minutes, and when doused in mapple or golden syrup starts your weekend day off in an amazingly relaxing way. I do not know where this recipe is from originally as I just picked it up off my mum when she used to make it for us as little kids.

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c milk
  • 1 t cinnamon
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4-6 slices of bread
  • Maple syrup
  • 2 T butter

1   Combine the eggs and milk, then whisk in the cinnamon, salt and pepper.

2   Cut bread into half triangles.

4   Soak each side of bread half and then add to the hot pan. A large pan should fit 4-5 triangle halves at a time.

5   When the first side is golden and cooked (should only take about 2 minutes), then flip onto the other side.

6   When the second side is cooked and golden, flip onto a plate and dash with golden or maple syrup and serve hot.

Congratulations, your toast is now french!

*If you have a cinnamon sugar it can be nice to sprinkle a bit over the french toast.
